FAQs
Registration to attend your virtual ceremony opens when the official invitation is sent out from 29 April. It will be open for registration for approximately four weeks and we’ll confirm this to you when we send the invite. The invitation will only be sent to those that are eligible to graduate at the time of sending. Graduates going through exam board after this date will receive their invitation in due course.
A significant factor in our decision-making about delivering graduation was whether the situation globally would allow us to provide all our graduates with an equal opportunity to attend, and that graduates and guests would be confident to do so.
While the narrative in the UK points towards restrictions being removed by 21 June this is not guaranteed and so we took the decision to run a series of online graduation ceremonies this year.
Online graduation is in addition to inviting you back to a traditional ceremony in the future.
As soon as we can move back to traditional, in-person ceremonies we will do so. At that point we will be excited to update you as we make plans to invite you back for your celebrations.
Certificates will be sent out to all graduates over a period of weeks following the online ceremonies.
Your invitation will show which ceremony you have been invited to. However, if you are unsure please let us know at graduationevents@cranfield.ac.uk.
It was our hope to offer a gown hire service to all students. However, Cranfield and our UK-based graduation supplier, Ede and Ravenscroft, understand that the current situation with international deliveries, particularly for hire items, is not reliable enough for us to confidently offer this service to all students. We apologise for any frustration this may cause.
UK-based graduates can contact Ede and Ravenscroft directly for gown hire and we recommend that graduates based outside the UK contact a supplier local to your region or area.
Once you have confirmed your attendance in the Graduation EVE task, we will contact you via email in June with detailed joining instructions.
To access the ceremony on the day you will need a PC/laptop/tablet or smart phone with camera and microphone and consent to download Zoom. Please make sure to follow the instructions and register on Zoom for the ceremony in advance via the meeting link which will be provided in the joining instructions.
