As hydrogen continues to play an increasingly critical role in the transition to a low‑carbon energy system, the need for reliable, harmonised, and service‑relevant testing protocols has never been greater.

Who should attend?

One‑day workshop dedicated to advancing the standardisation of materials testing for hydrogen technologies. The National Physical Laboratory and Henry Royce Institute invite experts, researchers, and industry practitioners from across the hydrogen value chain (storage, distribution and use) to build a shared understanding of current testing and certification practices.

What to expect?

Through a series of technical presentations, and interactive breakout sessions, together we will identify the most pressing gaps in existing standards and prioritise the areas where alignment is urgently needed.

Programme for the day

Plenary: Safety, certification and regulation.
Session 1: State of the art across the hydrogen value chain.
Session 2: Key gaps and emerging testing needs.
Session 3: Interactive workshop, identifying testing and certification gaps.
