Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

(KTP)

Transform your business with a Knowledge Transfer Partnership at Cranfield University

A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a unique, grant-funded programme that helps organisations gain access to the best UK academic knowledge, expertise and technology.

Through a KTP, businesses form a strategic partnership with an academic institution to develop new products or services, expand markets, and improve efficiency or organisational performance. It is a three-way collaboration between your business, an academic partner and a recent graduate (the Associate) to deliver a strategic innovation project.

A KTP is the right fit for your business if you are looking to:

  • Introduce new technologies
  • Introduce new expertise
  • Develop deeper understanding
  • Develop new products and processes
  • Optimise business processes

A KTP helps you to:

  • Gain cost-effective access to Cranfield University’s world-class research and facilities
  • Embed new expertise, capabilities and knowledge whilst fostering a culture of innovation
  • Drive competitive advantage through accelerated innovation and the possibility of creating intellectual property
  • Increase revenue/profits through access to new markets, new product development, increased productivity and better processes

“As CorrosionRADAR operates in a global market, this KTP funding has enabled us to export our innovative products around the world.

The KTP project has been a great opportunity to work with an industrially-focused university. It's allowed us to look at areas we might not have otherwise been able to and bring a more academic rigour to those activities.”
