“It is with genuine pride that I accept this honorary doctorate from Cranfield University. As an academic scientist I have seen the value of interdisciplinary research by thinking across boundaries and bringing different expertise together to tackle real-world problems that cannot be solved by one discipline alone. As a science communicator I see how important it is to instil an appreciation of science and its value in wider society. These are visions I feel I share with Cranfield.”
