Graduation 2022
We can’t wait to congratulate you and help you to celebrate your achievements!
Not long to go until your big day! We are looking forward to welcoming you and your guests to celebrate graduation. We hope the following information is useful as you make your plans for the day.
Travelling to campus
Driving and car parking
- Please check traffic news for your route before travelling and allow yourself plenty of time.
- The car park is located on the sports field, the entrance is on Prince Phillip avenue (near the main University bus stop). You do not need a permit/pass to use the car park.
- If you require a disabled parking space and have not already advised us please get in touch urgently so that we can make arrangements for you.
Public transport
The approximate journey time from MK rail station is 20 minutes and from Bedford rail station is 35 minutes. Please check train times in advance of your journey. Train strikes are due on Thursday 23 June.
Using the UNO bus
Please check the latest UNO timetable for the service that best suits you. The bus will stop at the main bus stop on the corner of the sports field. Graduates and their guests can travel using the standard student fare 'day ticket' rate. Please quote #CranfieldGrad to the bus driver.
Getting a taxi
Please ask your driver to use the designated taxi point, not main reception. The drop-off and pick-up point is just around the corner on Wharley End Road (near the petrol station), outside Lanchester Hall. Signage will be in place.

Looking after you and your guests

- There is an onsite café available for you to purchase refreshments on arrival.
- Children will be given graduation goody bags to enjoy, and safety wrist bands will be offered at the welcome desk.
- Guests with young children can access our bottle warming and changing facilities. There is also a designated breast-feeding area, located just outside the ceremony hall, should you wish to use it.
- Please wear smart sensible shoes that are good for walking around on the grass and an appropriate heel height as the stage you cross in the ceremony hall is elevated.
Look out for the purple shirts! Our staff will be on hand throughout the celebrations to take photos of you and your guests and answer any questions you may have.
The ceremony will be streamed live to a very nearby viewing venue. It is available for anyone, particularly those with children who would prefer more relaxed surroundings.
