Global Entrepreneurship Week is an annual global celebration of entrepreneurship

During this week, people from various countries worldwide come together through local, national, and global events to create solutions for worldwide economic growth. The Bettany Centre for Entrepreneurship at the Cranfield School of Management will be celebrating our long history of entrepreneurship education and empowerment.

We have the unique position, as a Centre for Entrepreneurship, to be part of a vibrant campus full of innovation and technology. Together with our friends in School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing, and School of Water, Energy and Environment we will be highlighting the entrepreneurial heart of Cranfield University.

Who's it for?

This Global Entrepreneurship Week, we have several open events for Cranfield University staff and students, alumni, local businesses, and any aspiring entrepreneurs. We are passionate about spreading the joy of entrepreneurship to anyone interested!

Global Entrepreneurship Week Launch Event

Monday 13 November

Global Entrepreneurship Week is an international movement – powered by thousands of partner organisations dedicated to making it possible for anyone, anywhere to start and scale a company. At Cranfield University, we understand the power of an entrepreneurial mindset, and want all our students and staff able to access this. In this session we will focus on how to use your agency to engage and thrive in the entrepreneurship community.​

Stay for pizza and refreshments including beer generously provided by Cobra Beer.​

This is an open event to Cranfield University staff and students, alumni, local businesses, and aspiring entrepreneurs. 

Entrepreneurship Speaker Series: Panel Discussion

With our own airport, solar power farm and range of large-scale facilities the Cranfield campus is a microcosm of modern city. ​

Exploring Sustainable Futures game experience

With the dawn of AI, a new age of modern living is being ushered in. Stay ahead of the curve by travelling to the future- a successfully sustainable one and find out what life could be like. Does business and society thrive? Do humans find balance between themselves and nature. This immersive game will transport you through time to engage your senses with what a sustainable future could be. Return to the present transformed and ready to transform your business.​

Engaging with Cranfield University

This Global Entrepreneurship week, we are taking the opportunity to invite local SMEs to connect to our world-leading Management School and global expertise across our specialist technical themes of Aerospace, Agrifood, Defence and Security, Energy and Power, Environment and Agrifood, Manufacturing, and Transport Systems.

Connect with fellow PhD candidates and faculty over lunch to build lasting relationships and discover potential collaborators for your groundbreaking research.

This session is for anyone in or connected to the Cranfield doctoral and research community, including supervisors who want to learn how to support their entrepreneurial research students.

Our Speakers

Anatoly Silko

Tech entrepreneur, Cranfield MBA, dev team leader and certified full-stack developer with a passion for music and the heart of a metalhead. In 2019, Anatoly founded Rocking Tech, specialising in bespoke web platforms that innovate the music and creative industries, drawing on his project leadership at various radio stations.

Building Digital Presence

This workshop is designed to guide early-stage businesses to establish their online footprint, from the idea validation to launching a website and incorporating current key digital strategies.

The session also explores advanced methods for crafting a lean MVP, prioritising crucial features, and selecting the right technology for a competitive edge in today's market.

Entrepreneurship Speaker Series: Steve Frost, WorkBuzz

‘From an itch to multi-million-pound business’

Part of our regular Entrepreneurship Speaker Series. After graduating from University of Nottingham, Steve left his banking job to start his first company in 2011 – a market research agency, specialising in franchising, with clients including McDonald’s, O2 and Domino’s Pizza. In 2018, Steve launched WorkBuzz, which is headquartered in MK.​

WorkBuzz is an employee experience SaaS platform, helping companies gather real-time feedback from their employees and build great cultures. WorkBuzz has raised > $10m from investors to date, has over 400 clients and its vision is to help impact the working lives of over 1million people.​ ​

Celebrating Women’s Entrepreneurship Day

Women's Entrepreneurship Day Organisation’s mission is to educate, celebrate, empower, and support women in business all around the world to alleviate poverty. 19 November is observed annually to honour female entrepreneurs and celebrate their contributions to our community.​

Join in the celebrations and hear from a panel of female founders, researchers and investors to hear their stories and how they are making a difference to the world of entrepreneurship for women.
